Estoril 2003 layout
Hi Climax F1, can I suggest you a track ? It's taken from Dann Murillo MEGA database that he shared and update often.
It's Estoril in 2003 layout, it's a good one with a good AI line, track buildings and atmosphere.
With a touch of your magic it can be even better (it needs a new AMS loading screen too).
Let me know if I can send you privately or do you want to contact Dann.
Thanks.
Luca.

Essington Sprint AIW
Hi all:
I mentioned earlier I would work on the AIW for the fantastic new (best yet) version of Essington. It needs/needed some fixing and polish. First up is the Sprint layout (just replace the AIW file in your Essington_Sprint folder with this one):
https://mega.nz/#!GqpzRKaC!Y08vukwwIlXzNLpxflzdMY1XHEiB7qcHQXcT6vnfFzc
It has a race grove created from scratch; completely revised fast path; pit in and out lines reconfigured; a pit out error at the track join point fixed, and; AI speed calibrated to Reiza levels (100% AI strength on this track is equivalent to 100% on a Reiza track). This takes hours of work, so am giving you the files one at a time. Watch here for the Short and Long Layouts to come in the future.

May I ask what software do you use for editing AIW files? is it RF AIW/CAM EDITOR?

Yes, and GrooveEd. There are several versions of the AIW/CAM editor, though, so be careful!

I'm not sure which one I have but the one I'm using, there's not much at all one could do, the track is one of my best as is.
That said, this track is not the easiest to do as many of the textures are broken up into several parts which would make it very difficult to work with.
To be honest I'm happy with the one I have, even has dynamic track and marbles with all the AMS features.

Estoril '03 with all the latest AMS features? Where'd you get that? Maybe if the original poster had that version, he would be happy? The version I have is certainly an older one.

Hi Marc
Appreciate the efforts and always welcome.
Just tested the new race groove and it seems or is very off with all corners.
Generally speaking and looking at some of the best tracks that have race groove, they normally also good markers to where the breaking zones are.
In this case turn one the race groove starts very early, too early, then going forward every other one starts very late, sometimes in the corner which is far too late. They also seem to go much further than should which makes no sense.
Have not checked your other track version yet but if if you could make the race groove (all) as it should be that would be great. Thanks for the help!

Which car class does it start too early for? The closing speed determines the groove start point.
Depending on which class of car you want to imagine is the dominant at a track, the groove would have to be adjusted on that basis. There is also an aesthetic element--the groove graphic being used is not the best and has too distinctive an on-off visibility.
Do you agree the groove should align with potential tire squeal (from braking or cornering or accelerating)? Braking is heaviest, cornering middle and acceleration lightest. The intensity of the groove can be adjusted on that basis, too. If you agree, and provide the candidate car, I will adjust accordingly. In most cases, the groove is built assuming an F1 type of tire marking, even if the track is impossible or ridiculous for those types of vehicles. Most small tracks have little groove due to the harder tires and slower speeds. But for Essington the track is multiple layout, so....

Re: AMS track updates by Climax F1
I just noticed and compared to other Rfactor tracks and GSCE one's that this one is the only one that is is off by quite some margin and this was with three totally different cars.
Look at turn one (after main straight) and this would be same with any car, the race groove starts about 50-75m to early, even a car with the worst breaks would come to a stand still before it enters the corner.
Then turn two, if you were to use the race groove as guideline to break and still break a few meters early you would go straight into the wall in any car.
Take the main version of this track and use the race groove as a guide and you will get round pretty decently, the sprint version you will be very slow or in the wall.
No other track that I know of has such a big margin between breaking point and race groove.
It's up to you in the end if you want it the right way, I've never done it before other than the texture itself.
Fortunately I only use the main version which has a accurate racegroove.

Essington AIW
OK all, here are all three Essington AIW files improved to Reiza standards. The Sprint groove has been adjusted as per ClimaxF1's suggestions.
https://mega.nz/#!qrZEwIyB!gPO9BLvoMgV54DnCepdUcMQzriWncSogZIAgDVjCgSg
Just replace the originals in the track folders.
Enjoy and happy holidays.

Daytona International Speedway AMS
Hi Guys
This track with the authors updates was already something good to look at and even though I don't like oval I wanted the road course which offers good racing with just about any car.
There's quite a few updates, mainly texture repair work, missing textures and the biggest problem was that even though in high quality a lot of the textures were saved in DXT1 format with no mipmaps.
Took me some time just to find the missing textures and the odd hundred or more that had no mipmaps.
The usual as with most tracks, new grass, tarmac reworked, all other textures reworked, removed glow from textures, AMS random skies added with atmosphere, new RGB colors for the track and fog settings.
Ambient track side noise added, improved sunset lighting, new race groove.
Decent loading screens added with several other adjustments made.
Download track here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ySTI02Q43hptqriTFDXnJvMM9EmcdC1f
Known issues:
- I have not made any light adjustments to the oval track or even tested it to be honest, there is a new loading screen and the track version shares the same textures as the the road course.
- When in the pits one has to press the "I" button to exit on your keyboard which allows the AI to take control, just quickly press it again and all is back to normal and you have full control.
If anyone knows how to set as per all AMS track your help would be helpful.
- As for the oval track it is as is and I will not be making any updates to it as I'm not interested in oval circuits.
- The track has no crowd for some reason, maybe they did not get the invite
Here again any help would be welcome.
Enjoy the track guys!

Calder Park was a bit of a challenge as their are not that many textures to play around with.
It is a basic track and pretty old but still turned out ok and is fun to race.
You are right. Nice layout. Big thanks

Wonderful!!
Do you intend to do the same improvements to the other great tracks in this series?
I have calibrated AIW files for all of them if you or others want.

Re: AMS track updates by Climax F1
Was only busy with track because I'm testing some physics on a new car and hadn't driven it much.
Noticed a few things wrong which were quick fixes, will have a better look at a later stage.
Got three Codemasters tracks coming with full night capability, one is Abu Dhabi, the other two will be a surprise.
These two don't normally race at night but with new lighting they feel like new tracks.
If there are tracks that are worth looking at one can always send me a personal mail.
