The problem with incorrect skins in replays will not be fixed - there are now over 1400 cars in this mod and it would mean unpacking and repacking all the .GTR files and renaming every .CAR, .GTR and .DDS (over 5000)
actually there isn't even a need to do it on all, just the very common cars like BMW and the name thing can be applied to all new packs !
anyway I try to do renaming on some smaller packs like PROCAR , SATCC etc

I already did South Africa and the Kyalami pack, it took long enough to convince me I'm not doing any more.

I understand
is it alright If I do it on smaller packs and send them to you ?
for example I start with PROCAR and add the letter P on the end of skin

Just wondered Simon, I know I saw pics on your Facebook page of the Super Touring Car Challenge season (either 2015 or 2016, I can't recall) - will this be released? I could never quite get it right when I made it myself for my PC, too many clashes!

Why don't you outsource this work. I personally would be happy to give you a hand if you provide instructions on what exactly should be renamed (and make sure that every subset of cars is being worked by only one person).

Intel is going to do some as its only a handful of skins from each pack that need doing. However this is all you need to do:
Add 1 or 2 letters to the numbers of the cars: So the 1999 BTCC Volvo could become 99001BT
.CAR file ( 99001BT_VOLVO_S40.CAR) for example
The number inside the .CAR file also needs to be changed to match as does the .GTR file and every DDS within the .GTR.

The 2015 season has been released and can be found in the skin pack folder - link to main download folder in my signature. I added all the missing cars apart from a few that only race at the Silverstone classic. All non super touring cars have been integrated into the mod so they rely on the same couple of shared files now.
I want to make the 2016 season too but there are a lot of other things to do first.

It's a great model and looks much better than old one !!!
Hope to see it in GTR2 very soon...

Re: Super Touring World - WIP skins & discussion
The weight penalty for 4WD and RWD will be done away with in the next update, it causes too many problems trying to balance the cars using BHP to make up for the weight leading to the cars dominating at some tracks and being last at others - the 4WD is slow on the tracks they were quick at in real life and vice versa.
If your that bothered about a realistic number then change it back but I'd rather have a field of cars that have relative performance that is close to reality.

The old civic from the 1995 JTCC works but the car don't work since the rear wings has changed.
For the toyota, I don't know ! I think it's the same problem of seat.
I have found 2 others bug

BMW 98 : 2.25.6

The Civic skins were updated because they have an extra genstring number. They should have 4 numbers.
I think you are using an old version of the mod or skin packs.

Thanks Simon, not sure how I missed that.
When it comes to the 2016 season, give me a shout. Would be happy to help if I have the time.

The engines are being adjusted and tested without talent files .
The problem is that on fast tracks the Audis are dominant and on twisty tracks they are nowhere. So far in testing with identical weights and evenly matched engines it has been a lot closer. It might not be realistic but the weight penalty was put there because of the advantage they had in real life one that does not play out in game.

Increase grip maybe slightly of the 4WD tyre compound? I was watching my BTCC 1997 season review last night and the Audi +90kg was being totally destroyed on straights by the FWD's but under brakes was awesome. I suppose the drag base could be adjusted in very minor increments as well.

in STW 1995 Salzburgring which was a high speed track they were no capable to go for podium
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
maybe indeed best to add a mit more tyre grip to 4WD and slightly less power so on the very high speed tracks they get beaten
and remember in 1995 they didn't have extra balalst for their huge 1996 success
on other tracks such as Zolder and the short Hockenheim the Audfis were unbeatable, if i remember they even did a 1-2-3-4 this were short tracks with slow corners
at Ostereichring which was also high speed but had a lot more corners the Audis did reasnably well even if they weren't in contetnion for a win however ,
see from 3.20

Re: Super Touring World - WIP skins & discussion
Small error - Tarquini is listed as a full time driver for BTCC 1995. He wasn't a full time entry so really should be in the "Extra" section.

Re: Super Touring World - WIP skins & discussion
Drag and grip adjustments were already being used but it still meant the cars were performing the opposite to reality.
The 1996 Audi HDC, which has the highest weight, in BTCC with the mainly twisty tracks are off the pace at most races. Its the same with the Swedish and Australian races.
It seems pointless making so many adjustments elsewhere just to stick to a realistic weight when the reality is other parts of the physics are not based on real figures, I simply try to put something together that seems to handle reasonably like a touring car whilst lapping close to the times you would expect and at the same time trying to balance FWD, RWD and 4WD.
I am not a physics expert and its one of the most tedious parts of putting this mod together, I want to get it done and out of the way and concentrate on the more fun stuff like skinning and playing with the models.

Re: Super Touring World - WIP skins & discussion
The core issue with the 4WD is that the AI doesn't abuse the advantages. On the twisty tracks its incredibly easy to nail every braking point and traction exiting corners is perfect. You can even powerslide it on hairpins like the one at Knockhill to help rotate. The AI however still modulates the throttle as if it were a highpowered F/RWD car.
A simple 4WD tyre with slightly more grip and even more grip for the wets (the AIGripMult value) would do it IMO. I did this once for a championship in R07 and it worked great: Biela was on top, Bintcliffe in top 8/10 and in the wet they'd run away as they should.
Also, maybe a more oversteery default setup might help the AI being slow in the fast corners, but I'm not sure.

How many more overhauls / updates are you planning Simon? I might just create a new install on mine and do my own personal "historic version" of the physics when the updates are almost complete.

Re: Super Touring World - WIP skins & discussion
The reason for another overhaul is I had not realised that during testing the game was not finding the headphysics file and when I fixed that it solved the ongoing problem with the general feel of the mod.
This is a fairly simple update that changes just a handful of settings but makes a big difference to the handling.

I work on 4wd and RWD for having more realism
When I have finish I give the "update" on the topic for all person who want test it.
I think mondeo 4x4 is so much fastest, I have giving it the mondeo 1996 eng.

I've noticed a small issue with the SuperTCC 2015 pack - the tyre treads when driving the BMW M3 E30 clash with the treads on the super touring cars. I don't have an image but can share if you need it. Apologies if that has been spotted!
