When I was driving I felt like Ford and Ferrari were waayy faster than other cars. It may depend on the camera position, Ford and Ferrari are the lowest cars so camera is lower and it changes sense of speed.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
It feels faster but it isn't as Lukasz said, at Road Atlanta after a few laps i was 0.2 sec faster with the aston than with the ford after more than 30 laps.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Physics is from gt3
So
Ford and Ferrari you can made same lap times in 90% tracks
Porsche faster in slow circuit but slower in fast circuit
Corvette slower in slow circuit and faster in fast circuit
Aston good in all circuits
Edit : for a champ Ferrari/Ford are best
Anyway i think i chose the Corvette, but is difficult..

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
This is very true. Some cars make you feel like you are going bloody fast, then you cross the line and it's just as fast as all the othersMaxellero wrote:Gilles Leblanc wrote:Maxellero wrote:looks like it's way faster but it isn't.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Anyway,i've tested the cars only in AI mode, not time to drive lol
Much depending from your setup..
For example you can use Ford setup in Ferrari and work at 97%
But if you put Ford setup in Porscje or Corvette, you are far from the limit
Really dont know that car i chose,F488 I ve used in last gt3 but is too beautiful
For the Corvette i've my personal sound and i like a lot
Ford is Ferrari rivals so i cant chose this
Porsche is fun to push at the limit
Aston isnt in my driving style , but is something different
Tbh i dont look the physics this time for chose, only exterior beauty and interior sound
So C7 vs 488 vs 991

Give it 9 months, then we will see who wants to do what, simple fact is GTE's are shiny and new.
Thanks Daniel, only had a quick drive of the Ferrari and Porsche in 1.1 but they both feel awesome. Having said that, I don't know if it's a glitch and may have already been sorted but the cars were limiting downshifts as if to prevent over revving, quite bad in the Porsche, I never came across this in GSC and boxers behave normally

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Gearbox damage (which allows you do add downshift protection) is new feature in AMS, I added them to our cars to stop some crazy downshifts people were doing. I can remove the protection and keep only the damage but if I do that I'd like it to be pretty hard what means some guys will blow their gearbox before the end of first lap
The Boxer has a small downshift protection, go max rev and try to downshift, it won't let you do it, but it still lets you over rev so whenever you do this you are damaging your gearbox too I'd like to take a look at the hdv and tbc of the Boxer Cup, would be very usefull for our cars.
There is no explanation on how it works in the CART files so it was added "blindly" to our cars. I think need to give all cars some +100~150rpm tolerance on downshifts. I'll take a look at it later today and ask Daniel when is the next update so we can change that.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Not complaining, I was just unsure of what was happening, I was mainly testing the limits, Ithamos for explaining
For my admittedly slow driving the Ferrari felt perfect, the Porsche was a tad too restrictive

It's a good feature, but I'd be happy if it would be a bit more tolerant - as you said with ~100rpm

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
No problem Matthew, didn't take it as a complaint. Any feedback is good.
I did it with letting the car roll and downshifting, but when you are driving at speed you are already braking and making the car lose speed way faster so some more rpm should be added from the begining, was a bit dumb from me to not think about it before.
Can you both do a test? This line in HDV file DownshiftProtection=1.0 change to DownshiftProtection=1.02
In case you'll also test the Ford change this DownshiftRPMDifference=3700 to DownshiftRPMDifference=3650
Should be enough to (if you downshift at the right moment) hit a little bit above the limiter you set in your setup (like 50 above), if not enough I'll increase it a bit more

I'll go for GTE for sure. Aston or Corvette.
If Daniel won't fix Aston mirrors, then definitely Corvette

Cant we enable or disable the gearbox protection on the client side. It doesnt feel natural if I downshift and after 2 seconds the gear changes. Im talking about the Ford now .

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Wouldn't make sense if it was possible for someone to turn this off
Just a test anyway, I'll try higher values, I guess 1.05 will do it
What you mean with you press and it downshift 2 seconds later? That does not happen here

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
nevermind, 1.1 seems to be good enough, it's way higher than what we use now and allow you to over rev a bit but more confortable to drive, sending the files to Daniel soon, no idea when the update will be released tho

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
on lola? thats strange as i already set a new one after i saw that the wheel has is attached not on the wheel mid... but for sure i will check and change it
for the gears i dont think the shift was a second or two later as it just dont change and you have todo it again... i hope now will found a better value i brake a lot with the gears and as it is now i cant -.-
but i wont update it now again, i will wait if maybe more problems will be found and make a update then... maybe you saw that i use a different packing system now with some more mas files what should make the updates much smaller because there isnt now a huge mas with all files what i have to upload just with one changed file...
