Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Milan,
Great minds think alike. I did the same but started with the Vette. Unfortunately same results (kinda anyway) with GTE same or slower than GT3.
I'm looking at some other mods to try and bring the right aero/engine file differences. But after a couple weeks the changes are so subtle it's painfully slow going and real life is super busy right now.
GTE should be about 5% to 7% quicker on lap time with same fuel consumption based on what I saw last year in IMSA. Sounds easy but they don't have ABS so that makes testing tough because getting them to work for offline with AI has been hard (for me).
I'm beginning to think the simple solution is just a new tire model for them and let them have ABS. Crude, but it would probably work.
Will,
You're the tire guru. Could you make a tbc file with the GT3 2.0 soft grip increased by 10% but the wear rate of the medium compound? I run GT3 1.9, so without a lot of installation maintenance I could test the GTEs with that against the GT3s.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Going with slower tire on GT3 would do it. This is what I wanted to do but thinking about the drivers that would not like to see it happening I kept the single compound grip on the medium tire and made the soft and hard from it. In my original idea was to have the soft tire with grip from the single compound and then medium and hard less grip, or if necessary current hard tire grip as soft and then less on medium and hard (based on enduracers grip difference per tire as that one is more tested than if we do it from scratch)

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Yeah,
Edit above in my earlier post.
That's one reason I was against multiple compounds in GT3. Real series don't run them and it created this dilemma on GTE. Understand your intention there though, not knocking that.
I think simpler solution is to make GTE faster and go back to single compounds on both after you guys finish GTA.
GT3 back to 1.9 with Porsche wear rate fix and increased temp induced wear on mediums.
GTE - Would like to test with GT3 soft grip at +10% with medium (or even hard) grip loss to wear rate from GT3 2.0

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
That's wrong, some GT3 series have different tire compounds (like Aus GT as Matt told me, and AFAIK SGT too) and I'm pretty sure even the spec ones will take a different compound depending on the track they race. Even if they don't tho... this is just a game... if we are going to do this or that because IRL we'd have to drop the whole mod then. Don't get me wrong, I like to keep things real, but with some flexibility, the point is: 99% of mods are not real, but anyway to me the amound of compound is just competition choice, does not depend on if happens in real life or not.
The "dillema" in GTE is a matter of lacking specific physics for it and the GT3 being too fast, nothing to do with the tires.
Also as I said if people want to do a league or race with a single tire you just have to add the line to the track gdb it's literally a 1 second work (remember we had different gdb for original tracks in LMS? That's because Reiza Formula tires are locked thus locked the tires on the LMP2 too), no idea why peopel are ignoring this, there is no need to dislike the tire compounds or to go back to a single one in the base mod. I just gave people choices, be it for racers or league/race organizer.
Having them all available in GT America is my personal choice as I wanted to mimick our first GT3 leagues in EEC, and honestly it has been a lot of fun
10% grip difference is a lot, you can try it yourself, just edit this line in tbc DryLatLong
Btw I'm no tire guru, everything I made was just observing other mods

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Mazeo,
OK, There is no talking with you... Did you read this;
GTD use a single spec compound from Continental. Most GT3 series do in fact use a single compound choice per weekend.
This is not about your decision on the GTA series or listening to you rant to justify it. I really don't care why you did it. If people like it that's great. Insightful comments on the process though...
But it would have been better across the community if you hadn't assumed "your personal choice" was best for everyone that uses the Automobilista GT3 Mod. You should have left the base Mod alone and built an srs, hdv and tbc file package to support on-line GTA or GT Aus or whatever.
Milan,
Thanks very much for your contribution to this GTE thing and validating what I found. That was actually quite helpful as I thought I'd screwed something up. I too thought the old GTR2 aero, engine and gearbox packages would be quicker. I'll keep playing around with GTE as time permits and maybe @heavyharris will find something too. Happy Easter buddy.

I'm not "Wrong". This whole conversation got started regarding GTE and GT3 on track together as GTLM and GTD.decpau wrote:Understand your intention there though, not knocking that.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
I apologize if my words choice were poor, did not have the intention to offend with the "wrong". And this was not a rant.
The tires on the base mod is not for personal reasons tho (only the league), I did race in open servers a few times and some people commented they'd like to have more tire choices.
Well just like your suggestion about doing more tire choices for the league, skin pack creators can do the same for the packs they release, this way you could have a GTD pack with a single tire which they can choose from the available ones. And it's better if they do so they can have stuff like fuel tank with different values that fit the real life series.
For offline racing the AI pretty much ignore anything that was set there anyway, I did tweak them for offline use but I noticed the AI did the same thing with current or previous tire. Seems like they only pit for fuel, was a bit frustrating when adjusting them tbh
And that goes back to the point above, you could have GTD with shorter fuel tanks and the hard tire (and tire/fuel at the same time in pit stops as they do in IMSA), that would separate them and if needed copy the wear rate and wear grip from one tire to another to fit what the skin pack needs. That's what a base mod is for after all: to offer the choices and then people pick what they need, just like the genstring for the car body
Again I apologize, I'll think more before posting in the future. Have patience with me please I know I can be very boring at [many] times, but worry not, you won't have to read about me doing things soon. If you are reworking any physic talk to Dan, I would like to see them reworked for sure. Don't know if you have Uli's last Aston, I'll send you in PM as I'm not sure if it's ok to share in public, maybe that will give you some inspiration

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Will,
I'm not pissed off bro, just frustrated.
We shoot ourselves in the foot too much.
You are absolutely right on the GTD tires. That's why I was asking you for a soft grip tire file with better wear to try on the GTEs. And after a couple months I'm thinking it's the most efficient way to address GTE and GT3 with what we have now. GTD have about the same if not more fuel endurance so with the common physics it's hard to figure that out. Maybe weight. Maybe aero efficiency. Still playing. Once/ if I get GTE quicker by the proper margin, fuel tank size may work there though so good idea!
Anyway, somehow I get the impression, you really do go there, that you believe I think the GTA tire choice was a bad one. I don't. It's good to shake things up. Did it contribute to my not regularly racing? Yes. But only a tiny bit. TINY bit. There were other things there. And none of them are anybody's fault or problem. And none of this has anything to do with the discussion in this thread. Hence my frustration when I read your post.
My recommendations were for the base GT3 Mod. Not criticism of GTA. Let's go back to a "standard" one compound tire on that after GTA is done. We should have a common baseline. Then we can keep GTA, Add another with just 2 compounds for GT Aus, make a GT4 or Cup mod, whatever we want to do for a specific series. That's all.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Talk to Matt, he got more info about tires, do it with him and once done deal with Dan to make an update. From my side the involvement with the GT mod is over. Had enough of it and it's not worth as it's just a game. Only wanna drive the league and keep the forum administrative tasks.
If have any question about AMS features you can ask, but only the gear box damage model should need change if an engine rpm or rpm limiter is changed, the rest should be ok as they work same with pretty much any car.
Good luck

@PATR1OT,
Daniel, I don't have FB or Steam communication ability. I would like to run an update to the LMS Mod for the GTE cars as discussed in this and other threads.
Please PM me, or allow me to PM you so I can outline where I am right now and get your concurrence to do this.
Thanks,
Paul

Roger that Dan.
There will be a beta for team mates to test and contribute before confirming an update.
Will keep GTE between LMP2 and GT3 too so the whole package stays good.

Just curious but did you check the URD tires on the C7? They are made by Renato I think. Racing online with it is bloody fun. They do have 3 compounds too tho

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Hello, gentlemen. First of all, thanks for the work done for your two mods.
We tested myself and fellow pilots the ELMS mod and we detected a major problem with the GTE (not the P2). Indeed after relay and change of pilots, there are big worries of heating on the level of the brakes. The brakes take 200 to 300 degrees more on braking which makes them completely unstable. And then to the re-acceleration, the brakes cool down suddenly. The car becomes uncontrollable. Everything is ok with the first relay, everything works perfectly and from the moment my co driver takes the wheel or me after him, it bug unfortunately as said before. And on all GTEs. No problem with the P2.

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
We don't know why this happens.
There are some things you can try to check:
Set the server to NOT transfer setup, so second driver will load his own setup.
With or without server sending setup, ask the first driver to Assign a setup after loading it, I think in AMS this button is the "Favourite" button

Thank your for the answer and your help .
I checked for diseable the setup transfer for our server but don't find the line or the option . Is it on multiplayer.ini or "servername.plr" ?

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Hope this solves it, but if you want to do long events (I saw you want to do a 6 hours event?) I suggest rF2 because the game can handle long events better and you can rejoin in case of disconnects, in AMS if you DC bye bye race =/
Make a vmod with Enduracers LMP2 and Simtek GT3 and you are good to go.

Sadly , the problem is still here . Yes we want to do a 6h endurance race but now I think it's dead . BTW the GT3 mod get the same problem . I hope maybe one day you will fix it because we love Automobilista .

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
One last thing you can try: in the car HDV file this line DriverTime=(0.0,0.0,0.0,0.0) change to DriverTime=(11.0,1.5,4.0,1.0) then save, load the car you changed and do a swap.
If this don't fix, we can't do anything as we don't know what is causing it. Asked in Reiza forums and Reiza themselves don't know either, it could be a problem in the game with this much changes they made.

Ok thank you Kalinin . We will try it . And if it doesn't work , bye bye the six hour race . But for a 2h race with no swap , that perfect .

Hi, this mod workd fine for me before but today it keep crashing the game, no matter what track. If I choose private testing settings on it works fine, but att once I turn that off to have AI then the game crash
Edit: I dont know what happend with game update, but it broke almost all mods I had, so after game reinstall it works now. So nevermind...

Re: EEC LeMans Series v1.7 (24.10.2016)
Hello, I'm having a little problem and it's making me sleepy.
I'm organizing a championship here in Brazil based on the IMSA Series, using the Daytona Prototype and the GTE Cars. the steps would be Road America, Daytona and Sebring. In Road America I used the track of Patrick Giranthon and we managed to run normally despite a small problem initially.
For Daytona and Sebring the chosen tracks were the EEC itself. but in Daytona the server while in Pratice works normally, but when the qualifiyng session is advanced, the server error crashdumps, and the simulator of all pilots also crash. however this happens on any tracks not native to the AMS, bad in Montreal Modern, native to the AMS, we managed to run normally, anyone know what could be this problem?
We did not make any changes to the MOD, we only included the skins of each rider in their cars.
Thank you.

These EEC tracks haven't been update since ages, better try to check if someone else uploaded and updated them in another site like Xtreme Factorczerkawsky wrote:Hello, I'm having a little problem and it's making me sleepy.
