For sure!
The last couple years I really got into SCCA racing. Lots of cool stuff in there. But not as much as you would think on the sim side.

Re: Club racing Mod
I'm sure I'm using models/skins/parts/models/etc. as basis for what's been done without permission, and I wouldnt have the slightest idea who to credit. Is there a place to share privately and then if blessings are given I can share openly? I don't want to step on toes/cause grief/get in trouble.

I don't think you'll have much to worry about. I would have a note saying if I used something to please let me know. If some one comes in and says that is their mod, then add it.

Re: Club racing Mod
I took a stab at forming the front end of a foxbody Mustang into a US Spec early foxbody Mercury Capri. Does this look too hoky?

That's the Z28 Camaro GTO mod with Wide-5's installed from the Corvette Meeting mod and some small 3D edits that I did.
I know it's not the right 3D model and the 1996 Camaro is available for GTr2, but I guess it's a fictional inspiration from this.

And maybe a little from the Dave Sipe Camaro.

Re: Club racing Mod
Hi all,
I'm stuck on a problem. Up until now I've been able to unpack a file, edit a poly position on a car, save it (the gmt) loosely into the main car folder and my changes would show up. Now I've run into a model, if I unpack it and edit a poly and save it loosely, it will crash in the game but still load properly back into 3dsimed3 with the proper edits showing. I have this error:
vehgfx.cpp 2587: Entered VehGraphics::Init(GAMEDATA\TEAMS\GTL-GTR2\TC-65\1310 MINI COOPER S\6604TR\..\MINI_1310.CAS)
vehgfx.cpp 2631: Unable to read USERDATA\LOG\vehgen.scn: Error loading global material WC_TEAM_BODY1_PA
vehgfx.cpp 2684: Could not find instance "SLOT000"
Simply changing one polygon causes this error. I'm kinda lost here and could use a little help.

Re: Club racing Mod
The textures referenced by WC_TEAM_BODY1_PA, are within the folder as dds or packed in gtr file?

Re: Club racing Mod
This is what I'm basing this on, not specifiacally to any particular car but as a flavor of an SCCA GT5 Mini:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So I took another stab at it this morning to no avail. This time to the stock "GTL-GTR2" mini so I have a fresh mod to work with (plus it's less polys than aleady modified cars). Saved fine. Naming works (loads fine into 3dsimed with the renamed file). All textures show fine in 3dsimed. Still getting a CTD in game with a WC_TEAM_BODY1 error. Kinda at my wits end trying to figure this one out. Help!

Yes. I'm working on a "stock" car located in the original Mini folder, and it works fine without 3d modification. Once I touch the 3d model and save it, it crashes.

Re: Club racing Mod
Unless you are saving gmts in a wrong format, I have no idea why it doesn't work.

Re: Club racing Mod
Success!!!
All I did was take the 2 DDS files associated with the TEAM_BODY material and unpacked them and left them loose in the same directory where their GTR files reside and, whammo, it works! Don't know why, but it does.
Thanks KK08 for inspiriing that thought to try.

Re: Club racing Mod
SCCA back in the 70s-80s was cool. Literally run what you brung type of racing. Which also had the downside of one guy having a car miles better and then becoming „national champion” at the runoffs which I always felt it kind of cheated the system a bit, but eh. I mean check these things out - from 60s modified roadsters to full on trans-am style cars from the early 70s and even the tube-framed monsters of the 80s for the really wealthy dudes like PLN.

Here's a lot of good stuff, especially if you scroll back a couple decades or so.

Re: Club racing Mod
I really should have been there for this. I just wasn't going to SCCA events at the time. But seeing the 2012 Scott Tucker DSR would have been awesome. It's on the bucket list of cars that if I learn 3d modeling, that I want to put in a game. If you have an hour to listen on how crazy this car/program was, listen to the Dinner with Racers Level 5 special.
