Old guy, but new to sim racing
Hi,
I'm glad I found this community. I'm an older guy who has recently been bitten by the sim racing bug. I have a setup that can only run the older sims such as GTR2, rFactor 1 and Race 07, but I'm having a blast.
I have managed to obtain a Logitech DFGT and it has made a world of difference to the fun factor. I'd love to be able to use some of the newer sims, but getting a pc to run them is out of my budget at the moment. GTR2 with all the mods available works for me very well and I'm pretty much addicted to sim racing now. It is a pity that I can't get hold of the EEC Tracks for GTR2 as I'd love to run a Blancpain GT3 series.
I have started to record sessions on my YouTube channel and hopefully you guys will see me improve over time. If you have a GTR2 server I'd also like to try that out and get to meet you all on the track
My real name is Carl Hackman and I'm 56 years of age. I'm a British expat currently living in the Dominican Republic. At the moment I race GTR2, rFactor 1 and Race 07. When I've saved up enough to get a better PC I'll looking at rFactor 2 and Automobillista.
I'm not a modder, but would like to get into skinning as digital art is another of my hobbies. I have worked on mods for Flight Sim and Skyrim and would be interested in helping out with race sim mods. I heard about EEC from online searches for the best mods for GTR2.
I want to be part of EEC so that I can get to know more about sim racing and treat it more as a hobby than a game. I am always open to advice on how to improve by more experienced sim racers.
As well as being a new sim racer I am a traditionally published author who writes humorous fantasy. My debut novel was released last year by a US publishing company. I'm also a amateur digital artist who loves to paint wildlife and fantasy creatures.
As I become a better sim racer I'd like to race online and also become involved in helping to create mods.
