GSCE 2013 does not start

Hi guys,

I am really thinking to switch to GSCE now as well and join the league again. I downloaded the trial version to test, made all updates. But when I start the game, I can click on launch first to try out the trial version but after that the screen keeps black. Nothing happens then.
When I go back to Windows, I can see a message:
"Fatal error compiling pixel shader ps2c_RZRoadOneSurfaceTwoDiffuseGroundA.
Please compile offline for more info."

Trace shows only:

I have Windows 8.1, NVidia Geforce 650GTM, 8 GB RAM, i7 @2,4 GHz, 64 bit.

I reinstalled directx 9.0c, but same problem. Maybe a file is missing?

Any ideas?

Try something from there.
Remember to use a lower res mirror when you start the game. I think your card will have problems if you run original mirror resolution

No, it has nothing to do with the settings. I changed everything, but it had not helped.

Maybe if I install it via steam it will work, but then I have to buy it before I tested it...

Did you try with version 1.51? They fixed a lot of bugs in this new version. Steam can refund your money if you play less than 2 hours by the way. So you can buy it, it's safe

My PC is way older and also slower, but GSC still works with the normal Mirrors. (though it has huge FPS drops with it )

I don't risk those mirrors on my card, I know it can handle it but still too much power use just for this, 2000x128 mirrors are good enough

It worked now. I deleted one .dll file in the main folder, something with d8...
well, I tried out the EEC GT3 mod then and I really liked it. I think I want to join you guys soon in the GT3 league, is that still possible? Also I would not take part at the first race this weekend.

For sure it is possible mate.
Overall the online experience in SCE is far superior to GTR2. Especially the contact with other cars, no random stuff happens (at least it never did for now) in contacts like in our previous sim. More options for race formats, etc. Just much better.
