Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
Again, I'm not going to do too many GTP retro liveries. And there are no Jags in the field
Rockstar maybe, although I don't really like their real liveries, so I'll have to think of one.
Penske will come, I'm working on that
Other Indycar teams are a good idea... I'll have to take a look at the liveries.

An ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing car would look real cool, or CFH Racing Fuzzy's car.

CFH, you mean this?
That could be good, a bit more green in the field would shake it up

Ok, here it is, Carpenter Fisher Hartman racing...
although I'm not sure if this one is any good... not just fishing for compliments, I'm really unsure. Any constructive criticism would be welcome.

Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
I Know they changed it a little bit over the past few years, but the original "Fuzzy's" Ed Carpenter race car, the white was actually golf ball like
I'm pretty sure they removed that the last 2 years or so, but it was really cool to see inperson and you never really saw it on the TV or pics

Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
That's an interesting effect But I think you'd need really high def textures for the car for that to come across correctly, otherwise it would just be blurry circles.
Maybe I'll remake the car with golfballs in 4096 for the people whose systems can handle it For now, the 2048 version will just be pearly white.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], thanks! Having slept over it, I think it looks ok too... like an obscure one-off, which it is

Looks awesome. Would be a cool one-off if there was a round at the Indy road course.

Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
Don't get me started on the calendar again
Anyways...
Penske!
Any resemblances to the CZSCGT TS030 are purely coincidental, this is Penskes own design... no Ex-McLarenspies employees were harmed in the making of it
The car will debut at Sebring in unpainted carbon fiber... as so often happens, it will be plagued by all sorts of technical troubles.
Penske will then take it away, work on it (mainly paint it red) and it will reappear later in the season with the issues hopefully sorted out.
There will also be a second car for Petit, but I haven't decided on the paint scheme yet.

Great stuff, really looking forward to this. Are there any plans for a Muscle Milk LMP1 and/or a Dyson Bentley?

Dyson is already there, as a two-car Porsche team
The Muscle Milk car I don't know... it looked great, but somehow the challenge of painting an Aston skin on an Aston really isn't that intriguing to me

That or the weird new green coke... do they have that in the US?
Coke Zero would be neat on a zero emissions car... lol, if I was the marketing guy for coke, I'd sponsor Formula E with that

Just changing the colours isn't very time consuming
Montoya won Indy this year, didn't he? So I doubt that age has done much to him at all...

Second Wayne Taylor car for Daytona.
The mapping on the R18 really drove me insane here...

Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
New cars will come later, right now I'm working on the championship as such... the USCC has a rather unsatisfactory points system in my view... 35-32-30-28-26-25-24-23-22 and then all the way down to 1 point for 30th place.
This might work for a multi-class championship, but we only have one class here.
The old IMSA GTP championship system was 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1, does anyone object to using that?

Re: IMSA LMP1 Project
If you intend to run the championship online you would want the tighter (Tudor) points system to encourage finishing and dedicated participation. For offline I think you go with whatever you would like. The IMSA points spread is certainly more "international" favoring podiums and wins.
