Screenshot button in GTR2

How do you take a screenshot in the showroom spinner in GTR2?

I always thought it was F12 or printscreen and it would appear in the main GTR2 folder but nothing is appearing today!!

Tried loads of different combinations and still nothing. Feel stupid asking the question but it's starting to really annoy me I've taken screenshots before so I'm lost as to why it's not working!!

I'm on windows 10 and non steam version of GTR2

Managed to get printscreen to work finally!!

Earlier when I tried to use Gimp and paste an image it was giving me nothing. Working now feel free to delete this topic

F12 should be the key. It's saved as BMP to the GTR2 folder.

I use gimp, too, if you ever have trouble, paste it into Paint first, save as png or jpg, and then load the file in gimp.

As I recall you can't take screenshot of car in showroom without external screen capturing program.

If you have an Nvidia driver and have GeForce Experience installed, an alternative method is to simply press Left Alt and F1 together and it'll take a screenshot in ShadowPlay. Or if you're on AMD they have ReLive for the Radeon cards. Simply press Left Ctrl + Left Shift and the E keys together.

Using Crew Chief and the "Forces borderless window in windowed mode." feature.

PrintScreen is perfectly working everywhere in GTR2: showroom or track.

I'm sure I was using F12 which saves a BMP in the GTR main folder but not now

Updated gimp, restarted and printscreen is working all good. Will just use this method for now

Strange as it sti! works perfecly for me this F12 key but only on track it seems.
I just tried first in the showroom but it didn't work while the second try on track did work.

NB: still on Win10 and GTR2 at the root of a SSD

if you google "screenshot full screen windows" you will see how it works. It's a key on your keyboard then you can paste the image on any image editor. You can also use the snipping tool and you will be able to do more than one screenshot without quitting the game. Google is your friend.

F12 is an ingame feature and does not work when you switch to main menu.

Are you saying that your GTR2 is installed on your system disc?

Never did that for GTR2 ( except in older past times ) ... I know it's a basic rule: GTR2 works at its best at the root of a disk. ( if possible not a system disk )
For the moment I have 3 disks in my PC:
- NVME for system and pure softwares
- a SSHD for documents, images, 3Dfiles, simracing mods etc ... (the older disk ....for it I have a external backup disk )
- a new 2TO SSD for all games .... only racing games and not even Steam ( which remains in the system disk )
On this one I have 3 or 4 GTR2 installs ( but 1 only folder for all sounds ... working there with symbolic links in the different installs for sounds only ) + AC + ACC + RRE + AMS2 + LMU.
