There isn't? I thought they did one..........maybe I'm thinking of Jacers. To be honest I'm finding it really difficult to find the GTOs that were done there. Like the Mazda for example.

1999 Marcos skins are now done. I will do the Monza livery as well for #10 later. Thanks to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] for providing me with the 1998 Marcos psd.

Correct me if I'm wrong. However my understand was that all the technicolour Marcos were on the newer car. The wider newer car came in during 1998, right?

Nope the older spec Marcos was used in 1999. They only did 3-4 rounds with just the #10 car. The #11 was only used for Zolder. The widebody came in 2000.

In fact, I thought the same thing because in the images it seems short but in the real images it looks long, however the car tried to run on the 6 round with the modern but they did not start
the old one didn't have the name mantara

Ayy, I stumbled across the yearly upgrade specs for the 993 GT2 so we can get that to be more accurate:

Even with those power increases the Porsche’s still couldn’t keep up with the Viper’s

Porsche never had a factory effort for the 993. The Oreca team was a essentially a works team. Which then made customer cars for other teams once they left. If you say compare the Roock effort vs Chamberlain Vipers, the Roock was superior.

IIRC Roock had factory support in 97 and 98, in 99 they were on their own, and it showed.

Re: FIA GT 2000 - 2009 collection mod [new version of Exige 300RR released]
They had factory support, but it wasn't a factory team. 1998 was the year they made their own evo right? Reliability seemed a problem for them that year. I remember the first race they seemed super quick, especially in qualifying.
I think results often don't tell the whole story. For example Porsche GT1 in 1997 and 1998; they were good cars!

98 they ran the 3.8L engine before the other teams could buy it in 1999, 1999 is when they completely overhauled the car after losing the Porsche support, and that's when the car got really unreliable, usually down to the transaxles failing due to how much wider the car was.

99 was by far the worst season of FIA GT (pre 2006 era)
smaller fields with GT1 class gone , and it essentialy boiled down to which of the Oreca Vipers would win , the only ones would put an occassional fight were the Lister Storm, I do remember Porsche privateers complained to organizers and they allowed them bigger air restrictors but that didn't change much
It all makes sense since the 993 was replaced by the 996 in 1997 so Porsche itself had absolute no interest in developing a car no longer in road production

that said they did occassional still did well in national GT, heere in 2000 British Gt won the race agaisnt newer machnes

I'd argue Roock were still competitive in 1999. However the company itself had split in 2 by then, right?
Freisinger won a race as late as.............2000? Or was that 1999? I'd say they were fairly ok as late as 2000.

Speed-wise, Roock was competitive in 99, actually finishing the race was another story, Also yeah, Freisinger did manage a win in 2000, last major win for the 993[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] wrote:I'd argue Roock were still competitive in 1999. I suppose the Freisinger 993 used in 2000 (and some from other teams as well) were able to produce around 600 BHP from their Evo versions?
In Monza they were pretty quick and near the front of the field
Really good info on the power outputs from the different years, now only need to figure out which teams used which versions in all FIA GT seasons
