Thank you! Andreas' mod was the main thing I was using my RACE install for, guess I don't really need it now.

One thing.... the lights..... why why why 9/10 of the mods around the net have wrong material settings for the lights??? Sorry eh, but in all the mods I download I have always to fix the lights of the cars in 3dsimed...

What are you supposed to do, is it the light GMT that is set as glass in the material edit box and uncheck 'lit a night'?
I did that for some cars as I went through them but got distracted with other bits and didn't do any night testing and forgot to go back

Oh well, for me it's routine to edit the lights since years

Btw, a couple of tips: to have proper working lights, other than the things you said above, remember to uncheck the "Glass" property of the lightcovers, otherwise they'll appear dull anyway.

The second, is regarding the reflections on the body: "Shader" has to be: cube map specular map add grayscale reflect t1

It probably has slightly better but I still think overall GTR2 is the better game. Incidentally the FFB is turned down slightly on these cars in the .HDC files,

Andreas' version was
SteeringFFBMult=2.50

GTR2 version
SteeringFFBMult=1.50
