Circuit of the Americas *RELEASED*
Hi Guys
This is something I've been working on for a good while. I've restarted it twice with better versions coming out at some point or another.
I am pleased with how well it runs in GTR2, so everyone should have reasonable FPS.
Some cones have been added to the middle of some turns to stop people from cutting.
The brake markers have been made slightly bigger as some people were struggling to see them
The WET Line has been added by Gupster, so thank you to him for that
Thanks to the people who brought the track over to rFactor originally, closely followed by thank you to the people who improved it a huge amount.
This is for a league I race in, So I'm not totally sure how the AI is.
Also, I can't access Khans AIW thread any more, So all my knowledge on that is out the window.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

Very nice track. Maybe over time you can add some spectators for more atmosphere?

Many thanks Alex - I agree with the last post, if it is possible in the future to add spectators, it will be the icing on the cake!

Re: Circuit of the Americas *RELEASED*
I'd happily add some if I knew how. I guess I could copy and paste some over from an original track?

Re: Circuit of the Americas *RELEASED*
That's easy:
- Load the Track in 3dsimed and switch off all objects you don't need - or just open the object you want like the grandstands.
- Make sure you have a folder with spectator textures
- Create a Material for the spectators
- Now point to the point where you want the spectators, do a right mouse click and choose Memorize XYZ
- Then go to Primitives -> New Upright
- Select the Material for it, Click MR to get the coordinates you just memorized
- Now adjust the dimensions. They are absolute. So people are about 1.8 Meters or something like that. Use it for Z. Dunno if it's X or Y, but the one with the 5.000 you should adjust. Look at the size of the textures, so this one looks good - later you can adjust still adjust the dimensions.
- Then click ok. In the next window choose "Create Object".
- Now place the object exactly where you want. These are your first spectators.
Later you can easily copy some of them and give them a different texture. For this, if you explode that object, all exploded objects will be combined when you save them which can be good for a full grandstand instead of having 40 single spectator objects per Grandstand.
I wouldn't copy them from a different track, because they are normally adjusted per Track.

Well considering the OP has not been online since 2015, you're not gonna get a link from him.
However other versions of Austin are available such as this SRW conversion by giffoo over at F1Classic:

It's not impossible if You remove the word "file"
mediafire.com/file/ncofefeff6c2a00/Cota_for_GTR2.7z/
copy and paste

Because you want the original file. And that link is long since dead. This thread is 6 years old, and the original poster hasn't been online since 2015. He's not gonna re upload it. If you want a version of the track use the one I linked. Doesn't matter that it's not the same version, it serves the same purpose.
