I completely forget about entire sections of this forum sometimes, this being one of them.

You may know or not know who I am already, but let me formally introduce myself.

My name's Matthew Sibanyoni, 21 years of age. I come from South African descent but moved to Ireland at a young age and have loved old cars ever since. I've been modding since God knows how long but only took it seriously from 2020 onwards, and the rest is history. I'm a member of ASR Formula, or some of you may formerly know them as F1-S-R Modding. I have created the Grand Touring Group 5 mod with some colleagues that turn the gears at Brickyard Legends Team.

I think my story in getting involved in motorsport was the same as many others, you accidentally switch to the sports channel as a 5 year old and you're hooked ever since (follow F1, buy a simrig, etc). That happened twice in my life. Once when I laid eyes on 'Motors TV', a British channel, and again at around age 18, when I saw my first ever picture of a 1977 Zakspeed Escort fighting in Zolder in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft. Now it's my mission to cover that entire era, and I'm not quite sure what I'll do after that happens. The game engine of Automobilista is vastly superior to anything that is out there (it's almost embarrassing how modern sims are beaten by a game last updated in 2018!) in terms of physics, with decent graphics. My tenure in simracing is fairly short, racing at other places since 2019 up until this point, and at the moment I'm only committed to the International Simracing Organsation league.

Bouncing around from sim to sim before Automobilista, none of them really felt quite right. Assetto had potential but too barebones, while rFactor 2 had managed to overcomplicate a great approach to simulation. (No wonder the real world teams still use a special version of rFactor 1!) While others just weren't up to scratch with the basics or are still in development. Seems only Reiza got it right. I do quite enjoy GTR2 though.

To this day I am still finding new secrets. I discovered a way to have idle exhaust animations and now, some new hidden documentation in the Push 2 Pass mechanic. It's got it all. But you all already know that since you've been playing it.

Thanks for reading!

I've seen your posts on Trackaholics. I must admit it's perked my interest again with AMS. I've actually downloaded it again to give it another try.

Hello and welcome.
