Bad day/life rant Empty Bad day/life rant

Post  theravenousbeast 4/2/2015, 15:56

A bit of a rant, but I really need to let some steam off... rant

Some context: I'm in my 4th year, studying E-business. Because of my fucking around and not taking shit seriously I'll need to study at least one more year. Or at least I was supposed to until today.

This semester I really warmed up the study chair and basically took care of shit. I passed everything from this semester through the first 2 split exams and I had 2 in this January from the previous winter semester. I had to pass one exam in Logistics which I did, and the other one was a project I was doing with a friend. We were supposed to develop a relatively simple website using basic HTML and CSS stuff. We finished that off and today we had to go and sort of defend our work, answering questions about how we did certain things.

Now, admittedly, some of these things we had made even ourselves didn't understand very well and we were doing it by trial and error. Still, it looked well enough, it had a logically sound layout, everything functioned properly. And we go in and the professor starts to ask us questions about positioning of certain menus, mostly the CSS part. Unfortunately, the positioning parts were those that we mostly did by T&E.

Now, I have this shitty characteristic that I simply can not circle around questions, talking about stuff relatively connected to the question, unlike my friend. I basically lock out and can not answer even the simplest question. Meaning, he passed the exam and I am supposed to listen to the subject in the next semester again. And because of the way the subject system works (credits set to subjects), now I can't finish off next year in June. So I basically ragequit, did not say a word and burst out of his quarters as quickly as I could because I might have done something I would definitely regret.

The bigger picture to understand here is the whole situation in this shitty country I live in. Our "democratic" governing body is basically dictatorship without the name. There is no free speech, the opposition is out of the Parliament, all the media has been bought out and these motherfuckers have free reign over just about everything. On top of all this, the latest law that has been put in will screw over generations of students and will most likely catch me. They will introduce a state exam for ALL the universities to "reaffirm the grades that all professors give". This, in essence, kills the universities' autonomy and considering previous laws, it will most likely be politicized.

Looking forward, the ways I could ever a job in this shithole is by:
1) Getting into the current governing party and work in the overpopulated administration(never was an buttlicker so out of the question)
2) Studying something I do not care about, but that lacks workforce (not an option, uni isn't exactly cheap)
3) Start looking for something completely unrelated to what I've been learning last 4 years and basically start from the bottom
4) Start up my own small business with the knowledge I've gathered. Problem here is that the governments doesn't give two fucks about small businesses. They constantly increase all kinds of taxes, restrictions etc. that makes it incredibly risky and hard to even try that.

People are flooding out of this country at an increasing pace for a reason, something like 4-600000 people last 5 years. All that's left are government supporters, old people and students who can't afford to leave. Meanwhile, I am still here and I am really losing hope I will ever make something happen here. Moreover, I am asking myself the question what is the point of all this. It's getting kind of depressing...

Rant over, feel free to judge/comment/laugh/point/criticize/whatever.

Everywhere... Germany, France, etc. everywhere where it's better. I've meet people from Macedonia from time to time, last time we gave them from work everything they needed for their apartment because none of the official authorities would help them. Basically, this refugee movement is happening all over the world. Some leave because of bad conditions in their home country, others because of natural disasters, etc. What we need is a worldwide revolution Wink

There is a worldwide revolution going on and it's called "socialism". It's never been so easy to implement a so destructive system as now with brainwashed generation that we have now.

As a Christian I can only tell you to put your happiness on Jesus, let Him get into your life and change it for the best possible, you won't regret and nothing else can do as good for you. Many people call this a religion but only those who trully follows God know Jesus never was about a certain religion. He was about real access to God and freedom from this world. A real peace, love and happiness.

Things aren't going to improve. Better yet... they "will", but not for real. Everything that is happening now is already in the Bible and many other things that are coming are already there, including a worldwide "peace", "religion", government.

I'm going to uni after the summer, and I've heard a lot of things about it. Also big parts of the story where things like credits linked to subjects, and that you have to get almost 3/4 of the max credits to pass your first year.

Now what is happening here, is that they are screwing over students. First they implemented a 1080-hour rule for high school, which basicly means that you have to spend at least 1080 hours in school every year, which leads to half of the time you just sitting around and doing absolute dogshit.
Because our government wants to minimize the time students spent at uni, they got rid of the basic student grant, which means you have to lend all the money, and repay a percentage of it over a period of 35 years.
The stupid thing is though that they want to pump out as much students in the shortest time possible, but they have nowhere near enough work for everyone. Also in my opinion you should be able extend the time you study by 1 or 2 years.
For example: I'm going to study Automotive Technology at Technical University Eindhoven. I've been there a couple of times to see if I liked it, and they also showed some of the projects. It is amazing if you see what these projects do: some are about cars powered by solar energy, or really economic cars and so on. But all the government seems to care about is money. That's also the problem with what you told Nenad, about the starting a whole new study, because it costs so much money.

Now I don't know that much about life in Macedonia, but it sounds pretty shit as you describe it... I hope though that you will get an amazing oppertunity, and that you will be able to get a great life and to pursue your dreams!! Good luck man, you'll get there  Wink Wink

Well Nenad, about the government stuff, we're under a not elected one since 2011. And all those one-year-not-elected governments brought the overall inoccupation up to more than 20%, and 18-30 inoccupation at 52%.
Really, when there was Berlusconi, still the inoccupation was at 7%, and 18-30 was at 22%; France and Germany removed him using subtle stuff with banks and "friendly" italian politicians because a friend of Putin was uncomfortable for them. In 4 years we passed from being the 7th economy in the world to about the 20th place....

Also, they put our Country in a doggystyle position to Germany: all our "made in Italy" in food is being destroyed by EU laws so that Germany can sell its crappy quality food (sorry German friends, but that's the reality, nowhere the food has the same quality as here...), even here in Italy. You can't really imagine how many things have the name "italian" and are made with bad ingredients, not to mention that 99% of that stuff is based on "ideas" of Italy, but are really recipes that no-one here would ever eat, and never heard of before in the whole story of the Country. And this causes tenths billions of € loss and about 100k working places lost each year only for the agricultural industry...
Even the police and Carabinieri cars will be crappy Volkswagen instead of Alfa Romeo, because Merkel asked this to our "government"....

And let's not talk about uncontrolled immigration from Africa.... the "beautiful Italy" is dead, literally...

All this just to say: if you want to escape from your Country, DON'T COME HERE! RUN! RUN AWAAAAAYYYY!!! SAVE YOURSELF!!!

That sounds pretty bad, but unfortunately is not very surprising.

As others have said, all you can do is try and get out.

Other countries in Europe are your easiest/closest option, but there are other good options but they are far away.
(Australia/New Zealand or North America)

This probably doesn't help but Toronto has a pretty big Greek community.....

I don't like Berlusconi, but he was waaaaaaay better than what we've now.
And in Italy is the same as you say for the migrants: they get 1500€/month, rooms in 3-4 stars hotels to live in, free food (which they throw away, because they're "poor and hungry" but not enough to eat occidental food), free cable tv and free international calls.
While italian families get thrown on the streets from their houses, and only in the last two months at least 50 owners of small-middle industries suicided....

I feel you bro. As you may know, I'm from Croatia and things ain't much different here.

The whole country is divided in two types of people (well, three but I'll get to that): those who still live in the mid nine hundreds, ie "patriots" who "love" our country but when they win the elections they use the position to secure themselves. I know many if not all of politicians do this but at least they do something for their people too. Our ex prime minister is under a trial for misapplication of his position, putting our country in a heavy, near bankruptcy position that is even worse now. The political party that he was in charge of was in several trials and it has been labeled as "criminal organisation" and yet, they've won the presidential elections that were held a month ago.

The second type of people here are socialists who do the same things as do guys previously mentioned but they don't pretend that they are patriots.

The third type of people in Croatia are people like myself, mostly young dudes (and women) who see what's obvious. The only thing the third type wants is a steady, decently payed job. I know tones of people (my older brother too) who have high level of education and not a chance to find a job that they've gone to school/university for unless they have some connections at some mediocre companies.

What I'm trying to say is that Croatia is dying at a very fast rate. I know my country isn't very popular worldwide nor it has been strong along the past but seeing how most of the people are/act blind to those that are in charge of the country is just another reason to move abroad.

I'm gonna exit high school by the end of May this year and hopefully get into university, studying mechanical engineering. I'll go to German courses too and hopefully learn it so I can give myself more options for the future and get as far away as I can from this corrupted country. Hopefully, guys from Germany, Austria, England or I don't know where else, will allow foreigners to work for them.

If you guys wanna focus on other countries I suggest Canada. They have a imigration plan due to the huge area and small population in that country. My mother's friend went there, she is a nurse, got a job quickly and is living well there.

I simply would take Switzerland. Made there holiday for a week. So beautiful country and super kind people.

But well, for me the question is: Is the solution to move away or is the solution to start thinking about a proper, serious way out of all that disastrous stuff? If there is a target, then there is a way. This society is at the end of its time in this shape, it's just a question of how long it takes until wether humanity and everything else dies or if humanity starts fighting against the rulers of the world.

Sounds like America, if you work you get shit, if your unemployed you are taken care of with free health care, food stamps the works. It makes for a bad situation when you have no incentive to want to make a better life for yourself, might as well sit your fat ass on the couch and watch TV, thanks Obama. Sad

So, as Toni has described situation in Croatia pretty accurate, and what I can read from other posts from all over the world we are all pretty fucked up by our governments. Maybe it really is a time for a revolution, on a worldwide scale...

Not to feel bad bringing up an old topic but its the same over here in Australia. Everything is going down the drain it's hard to find a job as it is to leave home and get into some form of higher up education (uni, college ect) Then when jobs are open they are asking for people with experience then if you do have experience you're either too old for them to hire or they'll just put your name at the bottom of the list hoping to get someone younger to pay less of their wages.

learn languages and seek for a better location (i never been in macedonia) which promisses to fullfill your needs (take care to be not blended here what your needs are)
or make your own business and use other people manpower to feed your egoistic needs
3rd solution, go to politics and feed yourself

the problem with the world are all the same, we are becoming said, to get as much as we can for our self, fighting in fact again each other (in fact feeding our bosses - or the owner of the companies we working for).

the capitalist system is not a good solution in a world where is overproduction
and i don't think it will change if they will be not a lot harsh environment (not only weather) changes

2 Mio east germans left to west germany for some reasons in the last decade
2 Mio polish people left there country in the last decade
10% estonian left there country

once somebody told me i met in the former russian republics, he wished somebody would make him a slave, he could stop thinking how he will make it in the future
