Hello all,

I was thinking of picking up a new monitor to integrate into my racing rig. I was considering an ultrawide monitor from either AOC or Asus but have concerns over the extended aspect ratio. If a use a monitor such as these, will my picture get stretched or will my field of view be opened up naturally? I would hate to invest in this monitor size if it is only going to stretch and distort the game. I would be using the monitor with all simbin titles and eventually rFactor2 and Assetto Corsa.

Does anyone out there have experience or own this type of monitor?

Thanks in advance for any comments or advice.

Matt

hi matt,

i do think about same, buy a 21:9 Monitor (if this is what you write about, sorry my english is not so good).

there is a very expert Computer man "ezza"in an other Forum, which do give an answear about this.... post nr. 6 is impotant.

from his letter is Looks perfect with 21:9, no scretched cars in game, but on both side Little more view  (which is sooooo important for Close online races)

but i did read in other Forums, that games, mainly i did read about ego-shooter, that the grafic is streched.

another point would be, that those are 1st gen displays,
i read there will be replaced very soon by more reliable, less power hungry and color stable soon.
