New to GTR2. Need newbie advice, please.

Hey guys,
I am very new to the entire world of GT type racing but I absolutely enjoy GTR2 immensely. Forgive my ignorance, but I do not understand all of the correct terminology and different "classes/series" yet.
I have owned GTR2 for several years but played it very little. I was always more into NR2003 (living in the U.S.A)
Recently however, I've been really enjoying GTR2 and getting more comfortable with it, but my question is, where in the world do I start with adding mods? I installed the "Anniversary" upgrade mod and it works fine. I also downloaded and installed the EEC base mod (3.0) and I think it's great but I only have the base mod installed (plain white cars) because the amount of download content seems overwhelming! I am pretty efficient with installing mods into sims but I am not sure what I should install (skins and/or mods) for the EEC mod to have access to the cars I'm looking for. I'm not really into prototype cars as much as I am into production looking cars like Porsche, Corvette, Audi R8, Aston Martin, etc. (sorry, as I said, I don't understand all of the correct terminology and classes yet)
What "mod" would you guys recommend to have a complete set or class of these types of cars? I hope that makes sense.

I would recommend to look for mods made by Scorpyo as well, for fun GT cars with good quality.

Power and Glory Mod v3.2 is awesome if you like older cars.
