[DEFUNCT] BTCC 2001-2003 Base Mod V3

(Hello all, new to this forum...)

I've installed both the Base mod and the sound pack via JSGME (so that I can easily remove any other potential conflicting mods installed). But when I load up the game, none of the cars visually show up and the game predictably CTDs when I try to load a race with one of them selected.

I also noticed a folder named "SSTR_ShaderPack" in the archive, should I do anything with it?

Yes the entire zip needs to be extracted to the GTR2 root folder.

Got it working now, I downloaded and installed the Super Touring Mod and the cars show up.

Oh well...

all those missing  S2000 models can be found in in the RACE conversions for GTR2  


the S2000 Honda Civic can be found in the ETCC 2003 mod for Rfactor

I think that's the plan for most of the cars; Toledo, E46, 156 etc.

John George switched after a few races to red Peugeot 307 and Richard March also switched to a Peugeot 307 !!!




which in terms of S2000 runners means

2 works SEAT Toledo
1 BMW E46
1 Alfa 156 used by GA Motorsports

All of the S2000 cars are available in the WTCC mod from eSports Looking ahead, also a Focus model in there. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Are there any physics updates planned? The AI don't have any wet tyres which means in any damp conditions they pit every 2-5 laps...

This mod doesn't have wet tyres or the Esport mod?

As for models: The Esport league mod has all the models but I had them all already, the Petra Focus, the Civic from RFfactor VTCC etc.

I had the old ETCC 2003 on my HD for a long time and converted the Skoda (released at Trackaholics, as is the Vauxhall Astra Hatch) but decided against the Civic as it looked too old and seemed a lot of effort when the BTC spec car would do fine.

Both!

This mod uses tyres SSR_2012_MICHELIN_FWD and RWD. Both have wet tyres. If you use weather generator to create a wet to dry race I have found all GTR2 cars pit constantly after starting on the wrong tyres but it works fine if you do a wet race or a dry to wet race.

John George raced a red Peugeot 406 Coupe , not a 307   , either way his S2000 Civic is not required

if the idea is to complete the "BTC era"  which means 2005-2006   what would be needed

- Honda Integra
- Vauxhall  Astra Sport Hatch
- S2000 Lexus   (maybe just 3D edit the BTC  spec ones ??? )


if you want to go further for 2007- 2008   the only 3D model required is the new S2000 Honda Civic of Team Dynamics  (Team Halfords)

2006 saw the entry of the SEAT Leon, Alfa 156 and BMW 320i.

These models plus the newer Focus team Aon used are all available. The Lexus is a reworked version of the Forza car Trackaholics released.

I didn't mention this regular S2000 cars cos they are available from RACE conversion,

don't remember if the Vectra was also converted from RACE

what I found a bit fascinating how 4 S2000 Lexus did show in the last 2 events of 2006, always wondered why they enter cars which proved themselves already to be failures

And from that season Howell and Ferrier in extra Honda and SEAT respectively... the days when makes could field extra cars to try help them win...

It was. You can find it in the eSport Racing WTCS mod. With only Fabrizio Giovanardi's BTCC title winning skin from 2007, however.

Planning on doing a full talent file update for this.

the big question is what to do with GA Motorsport , they had 2 Astra Coupe and 1 Alfa 156 and they were rotated by no less than 7 drivers    

the most represenative would be
- 21 Paul Wallace
- 22  Charlie Butler-Henderson
- 23 Carl Breeze  (Alfa 156)


for this season the MG engine needs change, initially they had a V6 then later they were udpdated to a more powerfull and lighter 4 cylinder

For GA I would:

23/26 Alfa - Breeze/Hodgetts

And the others all in the Vauxhalls, would just need a window name / number change.

Most of the cars are already made I think and can be all included because I will do AI filters. The only thing that can't be done is the drivers who switched models so Breeze and Hodgetts will go in Alfas only.

The MG engine was 4cyl for the entire of 2004. Currently all BTC spec cars share identical engines but this can be updated.

Jason Hughers still used the V6 , I think up to 2006

Maybe but the engines In the mod are identical at the moment.

Can't wait for the 2004 set for a personal reason - my first full season of BTCC I watched.
