Hey all,
As I stated in a previous post, I'm new to GTR2 but I am not new to sim racing. I need help with low FPS and game stutter when I start a race behind a field of 20 cars. I have run the sim in compatibility mode with Windows XP. I have also enabled the 4G patch, but I still get a huge drop in FPS in the back of the field. I have also set the affinity to "all processors".
My PC specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Quad Core Athlon x4 860K
GPU: GeForce GTX 1050TI
OS: Windows 10
RAM: 8gb

I thought my pc would be plenty to handle GTR2

Any ideas? Thanks

GTR2 is pretty strange beast regarding FPS...

It doesn't matter how powerful your PC is, in some track/cars combinations you will have pretty low FPS at the start of race
It all depends how optimised is the addon track and/or car mod

Ah, that's good information. Ironically, I noticed it after installing cars/mods that you created (they were highly recommended!) and I figured they were high textures because they looked amazing. However, we all know high textures tend to hit the FPS pretty hard. I'll just try running a smaller field of cars.

Thanks for the info. and beautiful cars!!

Specifically, it was the AC GT3 cars that you did. They are beautiful! Well done!!

try different settings around the shadows and reflections options and even trackside objects in menu.

Yes, those as AC models and they use SRPL shaders so they could be a bit too heavy for low end PC.

Try to lower you graphic settings from MAX to MED

I'm defiantly no track expert but I've found by far the biggest fps killer is in the tracks of GTR2

In every track folder in GTR2 there is a file called TRK file in that file if You see the words

ShadowCaster=(Static, Solid, 128, 128)

That means it's making a Shadow on the track

But if it has the word Dynamic in stead of Static it will lower the fps a lot

Maybe everyone already knows that but just encase someone didn't
