Performance issues

Hi everyone.

I have the GT3 mod installed and I am coming in to some performance issues. When running with 20 visible cars I get some unusable frame rates, with a couple of cars on track it's fine.

I have tried tinkering around with the graphics settings, even dropping down to 720p and still the same issue. My machine spec is pretty good and I can run any sim with full graphics and effects but this particular mod is causing me issues.

Is it something to do with the 32bit nature of the sim? I just can't work it out.

Just try this , maybe it helps you, I had a similar issue and i did this :

Windows Task manager > right click GTR2.exe and set affinity > select all CPU and click OK.

Don't know for sure it will help you.

Shadows can be very demanding on GPU so you might want to check that if you haven't already. With some mods I can set all graphics options to max, but for the EEC GT3 mod I need to drop shadows to high otherwise I get bad framerates both in race and in replays.
If you have SGSSAA enabled in Nvidia Inspector that also can be very demanding on GPU.

I am trying to use the Blancpain endurance mod. I tried the above tricks but they didn't work.

My machine spec:
i7 6700 3.40ghz
32bg RAM
GTX 1080
2x 1TB HDD - not sre what spec they are
Windows 10

Play around with your graphics options in GTR2 game menu and see what suits best for you.
I have good 2013 pc specs and get 30-50 fps on start with big grids like 50+ cars then fps gets higher as the gap extends. The BES mod is a bit heavy itself. My visible cars option is set to 14. Minimum I go is 10.

With that machine there's nothing that you can do except find another mod that is more FPS friendly.

With a PC that good the game should run fine on max settings.
Have you tabbed out of the game and checked task manager to see if there's any background process running and causing high CPU/disk usage?

I've the same problem with the MRW's (Markus Windisch) FIA GT4 Euro, which has a lot of cars in common with the GT3 mod.

I can run with max 10-15 cars, above that the game is unplayable. Even using Bill's 2 Process Manager.

I also have a bad machine, an old notebook ... (Intel i5 Dual Core M480 @2,67GhZ, ATI Radeon HD 6370M, 4 GO RAM). But I can play the 24h of Spa with the reworked GT 2003 cars (10th anniversary mod), more than 50 cars and graphics on maximum without any problem ..

no way to fix that problem unless you bring new gaming machine
because MRW GT4 car base mostly from AC (assetto corsa)
it mean car are hi-poly model
heavy 10x or more time than vanilla GTR2 model

and its missing LODS, so what you can do is decrease visibility range (or visible car count)
