Go for the Punto 1.4 Turbo Cool

The Clio is heavy and underpowered, this means less fun and higher fuel consumption.
Also, the Punto is more stable in the curves.

Look, I never liked the Grande Punto. For me the best Punto was that from '91 to '99 (in particular the 1.4 GT Turbo).
But I have to admit that the Grande Punto is one of the best cars in its category.

No, it's because french people don't know how to make cars.. I currently drive a Renault Clio from '92 and my feedbacks are not very good. I drove also the new one, but it's not that good after a while you drive it..

Also for me the Punto is better, I'll surely buy one of them too, but diesel, in few months, probably the model before this Grande Punto and it's a very good car. I used to onw one from '99 and it was great so go for it! Cool

Even if my dream is the Alfa Romeo Montreal from '71-'73. Around 30k and it will be mine in few years..

If you drive a 20 year old car you shouldn't expect topline performance...pretty low to blaim french carmakers if you drive something that old and probably has 250k km's or more.

The age of a car doesn't matter: I still have my old '93 Fiesta Newport together with my '03 147 Distinctive.
Well, the Fiesta has exactly the same defects and qualities which are still on the new Fords: the electric part is a total mess, while the engine is so reliable that you can do around 200km without a single drop of oil in it without any problem.

Same thing for the 147: as every Alfa (from the '50s to nowadays), the materials are top quality, but they're mounted by "dogs"......

Apart the restyling, the punto is the current model, and will be for years.
That clio is just an old model, so different prices now, and when you will send it
both cars are good and reliable in the category, my mum had the punto 1.3 mjet. good chassis actually, funnier than I expected and very resistent, my mum is a wrecler like all woman, but this car survived 4 years and at least in italy, we sold it at the toyota with a good price.

None? :p
Have a look at second hand SAABs, wich atm get you the most car for your money second hand. I picked one up last december and love it to bits

7500€ should get you a car of upto modelyear 2008 probably, with around 100k of kilometers. a 1.9TID with a 120 or 150BHP and 280nm or torque on a 6 speed manual is a fine engine if you are looking for diesel, and brillant fun to drive. If you are looking for a petrol version, i would advise a turbo specced engine though.
Also for that money, you can get a pritty much fully loaded one at that.
Look for one with the sports suspension, and you will find youself in a well handling, comfortable, safe, fun to drive car with a great powerband at overtaking speeds. They are real drivers cars.
Even better, you'll be in one of the safest cars that are around, instead of driving a tin can on wheels like the ones you posted Wink

Parts are not an issues as Saab parts was no affected by the bancrupty and is a healthy company that even expanding.
(plus the new owners of SAAB are actually looking at relaunching the 9-3s)

Well seems you are forgetting one of the best cars ever Jos:

The Passat 1.8 Turbo, i use to have one and man... i miss that car more than i can imagine today, fast as a rocket and stablility like no other
Asides that has good confort and fools anyone on the road, discreet but damn fast
Well i like a lot VWs but belive me m8 this one worth a try, and not so much on the fuel as they say Wink

This is just my own personal opinion, but if you are really looking for something fun to drive, then the Porsche 944 that András posted is the winner Very Happy
If you are looking for the best styled of those, then the Delta What a Face

But if I have to advise you to choose one from your original selection of cars, then it is definitely the Grande Punto Smile
It is a very good construction, plus the design is lovely too Wink

Guys, remember that there's the fuel consumption parameter to take care of. I don't think the 944 or the Ghibli are good cars for a house-work-house itinerary.....

While a compact car with a small Turbo engine is just perfect.

Fabrizio your right.
In Holland The fuel is very Expensive. €1,82 a L
The insurance price is also a big point.
And of course the road tax. Here you pay more tax when your car is haevy in wight and bad for the environment.
So I need a small car with good power and handeling.
And most important reliable. and the parts need to be cheap.
So I'am looking for a small car that looks sexy and drives like a GT car.
But tomorrow I'am going to look at the Punto 1.4-Jet 120 HP and for the clio 1.2 TCE 100 HP.
Must say that the Clio looks good also a moderen inside.
The Punto looks a litlle back dated inside but looks great outside. 17" inch wheels.
PS
Must say that the idea of the Lancia Delta was great. I loved that car back in the good old rally days.
Thanks for the helping hand race friends.

I'am sorry for all the Fiat friends but its the clio 1.2 TCE for me.
I had the best deal with the car and it looks brand new.
Also the fuel consumption is good and the drives oke.
Must say that the Fiat is more fun to drive. (More sporty than the Clio.)
But the deal with the Punto was not so good as it was with the Clio.
Thanks for helping out.
