Hi Guys
Finally I can can give you guys a few cars to try that have being completed.
Very similar to the DRM revival this is a full rebuild and upgrade of Simbins last Historic GT cars pack.
Each and every car has being completely reworked from top to bottom.
Just about every single file or texture has being updated, reworked, redesigned, or replaced.
Update details:
- Interiors on all cars have had a full make make over with a lot of new textures like gauge kits, speed displays, steering wheels, race pedals, door panels, material textures/finishes and new shaders.
- All cars have new tires, wheel rims and and brake discs.
- A lot of the exterior textures like lights, radiators, grills, exhausts, windows, chrome detailing and many more are all new, all scratch made.
- Several new skins and skin packs with new mask files for all cars.
- Individual helmets and race suits for all cars and skins
- Sounds have all being optimized and all the latest AMS effects have being added.
- New shaders and shader pack for all cars.
- New updates to the hdv, physics tire and suspension files added
- Have made several adjustments to the car settings, like brake bias, break pressure, gear ratios, final drive, steering lock user settings and much more for optimal driving.
- New cam files, optimized view points and orientation rates
- Series file and icon added.

N.B. Each time there's a new car or update added you can simply copy and paste and allow the necessary files to overwrite.
Also make sure that you install downloads in order from top to bottom to make sure that the updates are installed correctly
N.B. There are several additional car files in each car folder, please do not change or delete any of these as there will be other models added at a later stage.
There are many more cars in the series and ask you guys to be a little patient with updates, each and every new car will receive the same treatment as the cars above.
This too me is probably one of the best series with different type cars, physics unique to each car, sounds are awesome and with all the new updates this is a real treat. or I hope so
Hope you guys enjoy my work so far and please if anyone would like to help improve these cars send me any updates to try so that we can further improve this mod.
The Ferrari GTO will be a bit delayed, had some problems with the model but have found a better version, just combining the two and will add this at a later stage.

Realfeel mess
Thanks for all your tremendous effort!! These cars are truly still amazing and worth polishing.
Remember that unless you carefully design a naming system for each car/class and implement it in the .VEH file in the "Description=" line, we will end-up with a conflicting mess of Realfeel settings.
For example, the GT40 #90 is called Description="2006 Ford GT40 #090" so it creates a meaningless Realfeel entry of "2006"
The GT40 #222 has Description="Ford GT40 MkI #222 2006 FIA GTC-TC Championship" so it creates an entry ripe for conflict of "Ford"
The idea is also to prevent having to adjust every livery or random numbers of liveries -- one adjustment to the GT40 should apply to all GT40's, etc.
Every class needs a unique 5-letter code that will not conflict with any other cars in the HISTORICAL FIA GT group or any other obvious mods in AMS. Other mods will have a Ford (plenty, so not a good choice). Other mods also have a GT40. So a one-letter prefix (C for Climax or S for SimBin or H for Historical or whatever you choose) should be followed by four letters that signify the car.
This scheme has already been developed for a previous conversion of the HistoriX mod. I would be happy to share it with you if you prefer not to make your own. (And a good idea to adopt this before you get too many cars done! )

Re: GT Historic [ Release ]
Thanks for the info, will have a look at the vehicle files and make the changes with next update.
This is a small fix and not a problem and will be easy just to add some new vehicle files as a update.
There are two more cars coming so I will include them then and one can just allow them to overwrite, simple stuff.

Happy new year to you too and glad you like.
Real driving is what these cars need, you forget sometimes what it feels like with all these GT3 cars alike with all their aids and advancements.

Re: GT Historic [ Release ]
Please do not post links to other mods on this this page, especially if they are not related, this is a Historic GT mod and not DRM.
If you want to send ffb settings then just send me a mail with them and not a 587mb file which I do not know what I'm downloading.
Thanks!

Great!
The only other issue is one that plagues every conversion of these cars I have ever used: the sound levels are too high relative to other mods. I have no idea why that happens, unless the original was just tuned differently. Because we do not have a mod-specific sound adjustment, the choice is deafness, or to fiddle with the volume every time you use these cars (and to remember to set it back to normal afterward). The AMS HistoriX conversion is the same.
Since you are paying attention to sound this time (most conversions do not), you could consider calibrating the volume to match. I know that is a huge pain unless you have an audio editor that can do batch processing (i.e, reduce the output volume by x% across every single file in a single step). But it would put these closer to perfection than any other conversion

Re: GT Historic [ Release ]
I've only added all the effects to the sound and have not played with the volumes.
My sounds are lower than other mods or AMS original cars.
At this I will not be making any adjustments to the sounds, I'm happy with the way they are.
Want to get some more cars out first before one can start comparing or tuning.
Feel free to change it on your side as you want.

Wow, that is bizarre? Just out of curiosity, not to change them, others could report whether they are louder, the same or quieter than Reiza cars. I have no idea how the relative volume could vary from one PC to another, but maybe it's just mine where this conversion is always too loud?

They don't need changing, I've ran two races with all cars and can hear mine perfectly with the opponents being equally balanced.
Maybe check your own settings because mine are fine.
Tested on loud speakers and my Sennheiser headphones and am happy as they are.
