My name is Gary, I'm 56 and live in the UK.

I first got into sim racing with Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix, and  got hooked. I got All the Grand Prix series 1 thru 4. I also enjoyed Codemasters Colin McRae rally and Toca 2. I also followed the EA F1 series up to F1 challenge which were developed by ISI. I initially used a keyboard for controlling the cars, then upgraded to the Microsoft Sidewinder wheel without ffb and finally got the Microsoft ffb wheel. Shortly after f1c was released I fell out of love for sim Racing, mainly due to children!.

I have recently refound my love for sim racing with Project Cars, although this wasn't modable, also I was using an Xbox 360 controller and wasn't that easy to control. I've tried Assetto Corsa but the mods for this seemed to be mainly street cars. I chanced upon Automobilista from a YouTube review by Sim Racing 604 and thought I'd give it a go and boy am I glad I did as it's absolutely great. I have even retrieved my Microsoft ffb wheel from the loft, although I will upgrade it later this year.

I unfortunately don't have the skills for any modding or skinning, although I can modify the .plr files and things like scn files. I have successfully brought across a track from rFactor into AMS.

I first heard about EEC though Race department and thought the GT3 mod to be fantastic. I have also installed the Pirelli World Challenge mods too and can't get enough of these mods!

I would like to become more involved in a group involved with AMS, maybe helping out with mods, and racing online.

Here's to a great time racing together!

Thanks for adding me to this forum.

I have a quick question which I hope someone can help me with. How do I like or give a "thumbs up" to a post?
I can't see anything obvious and I've clicked on anything which has a link to no effect.

Anyone any ideas why I can't do this? (apart from my stupidity!  Laughing )

Cheers

Cool to have another fan of the Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix series on here.

I think my first racing game was actually the very first "Grand Prix" by Geoff Crammonds on my families big beige brick of a PC.

Yeah the graphics weren't great back then, but the gameplay was brilliant and hooked me in. By the time GP4 came out you needed a big spec (for the time) PC to run it at a decent framerate, but the rewards were worth it!

Very much yeah, I remember having to play around with GP1's settings to not hurt my eyes.

I regularly play GP3 and GP4 when I feel like some fun F1 action.
