GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
Here is GID:
GID 1.1.4
Global Info Display is a HUD designed initially for rFactor but can be made to work in Game Stock Car.
It can be downloaded here -
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n6bn375bzve0wb5/GID+V1-1-4+-+Global+Info+Display+and+Trackmap+v1_14+by+fazerbox.zip
I suggest you download it then look inside for the Manual which is located in Plugins/GID/Docs. A read at that might help you decide if you want to use it. It looks a bit complicated at first but isn't really.
There seems to be several ways to install it I think the following is the simplest -
Open your GSC install (Open File Location)
Change name of the d3dp file by adding "bak"
Change name of the TrackMapPlugin file by adding "bak"
Rename the GSC .exe to rFactor
Open the Plugins Folder
Rename the TrackMapPlugin file by adding "bak"
Extrack the contents of the GID Rar and paste the contents into your install
To uninstall -
Delete the new d3d9 and remove "bak" from the other one to leave it as original
Delete the GID Plugin file
Remove the "bak" from the TrackMapPlugin to leave it as original
Rename the rFactor .exe file to GSC to leave as original
Open the Plugins Folder
Remove the GID Folder
Remove the GIDPlugin file
Delete the "bak" from the TrackMapPlugin to leave as original.
Everything should be back to original.
STARTING LIGHTS IN GID HUD -
When you are on track - better parked,
Bring up the GID menu by hitting ALT and SPACE together.
Arrow down to Starting Synch.
Use Enter or Return key to change "Auto" to "Telemetry".
Escape out and you should be good to go.

Edit 2:
To make the plugin working in GSC, you got to do this:
- Make a copy of GSC.exe and rename it to rfactor.exe - this renamed file is the one you got to run!
- Make a backup of the current d3d9.dll file, then copy the GID Plugin content
- Run rfactor.exe and go on track. Now press CTRL+Space to turn on the GID, use ALT+Space to adjust it by the menu. Read the manual above for all information!

Re: GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
Thanks for the link and the install instructions. Just recently downloaded a system like this for GTR2/Race07 and was looking for something similar for SCE. Much appreciated

Re: GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
Got it installed and loving it. Information overload!! I guess when Reiza updates GSCE it's best to throw the old .exe back in there or is that even necessary? Thanks again for the link.

@Will are you using the GID grid? Because it isn't working well for me. It always showing the gaps to fastest lap in both qualy and annoyingly in the race session too.

Re: GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
I was using the one from XD. But since I have no idea if EEC mods will work properly wiith it I'll have to use the one from GID, I didn't take a look at this part of the configuration yet. I'd assume you can change it but I'm not sure

Re: GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
Wow GID and XD together?
Well i searched it but didn't find it
This is in the manual:
17.BOX GRID. Drivers grid.
• during test, practice, qualify and warm-up it reports best times;
• in race it reports gap between me and others drivers;
• A white dot indicates driver in Pit-Lane/Box
• A red dot indicates driver out of race
• inside brackets the number of driver pit stop
so i think it should automatically switch, but not in my game...always reports the best times gaps.

Using them mixed is perfect. I really wish EEC mods would work with XD plugin

ctrl+shit+space will get you startedPeter2012 wrote:okay so i got this working on my steam game now but its a cluster fuck

you can use the arrows to naviget in all the stuff there, press enter to turn them on/off, use shift+arrows to increase or reduce the size of the thing
ctrl+alt+space will open the menu so you can select what model you want (of LCD, brake temperature, etc)
Once everything is at its place you select layout to all sessions in this menu and drive out of the garage, your game may crash but it will be only whenever you save the layout to all sessions, all other time it will be fine
ctrl+space turns on/off the plug in
Know how to turn on the game stock hud if you need to, for some reason GiD may stop working if a restart is needed
Here is mine (used to have positions from XD but it's not working atm so I'm using from GiD but I'll remove because it's not nice at all)

Re: GI D- New HUD for GSCEX
Damn, I only have original small HUD in bottom right corner and sometimes even that is too much distracting for me

I'd keep the message center clean man. There you have important messages during the race, especially if there is a full course yellow
