As I have recently registered on the site its about time I said hi to everyone and let you know something about me Smile

My name is David Faraday and I am from the UK, I am 32 years old and have been a motorsport fan all my life, cars, bikes, trucks whatever - if it has an engine I like it!

I started sim racing about 2 years ago, initially on "arcade" titles such as codemasters f1 2010 and GT5 on the PS3. Fairly quickly though I realised these titles were too limited and couldn't offer the kind of racing I wanted. I moved onto PC sims and have mainly used race07 up until recently. I have been involved in online leagues for the last two years although the site I used to be a part of has stopped using race07 with only a few members left and has moved onto using iracing. I am a member of iracing but I'm not overly impressed with it to be honest, the content is too limited (my passion is GT racing) and in particular the ffb and the way the cars feel on the track is in my opinion terrible and never encourages the driver to push hard, but merely to stay well within the grip limits.

I have more recently started using GTR2 also and it was the search for a more up to date GT mod that brought me to this site (i have seen references to this site on nogrip and also though videos on youtube)

My time for online racing is limited these days but I do try and find time to run at weekends if there is a series I am interested in, as I said before my preference if GT cars but I also enjoy running touring cars too. I don't drive single seaters much although I do enjoy watching f1 etc (in fact I am going to the Belgian GP this year at Spa, can't wait!)

I have created a few simple skins for race07 and iracing although I wouldn't say I am particularly talented in this area...

I wouldn't have a problem if I was only given access to some mods although I would love to run the ADAC masters mod, primarily for my own use offline but also in you're leagues in the future if time permits. I am not here to download mods and never be seen again, I hope to become part of this community you have here. Smile

Outside of sim racing and motorsport I am a keen cyclist and get out mountain biking as much as I can and in winter I do as much snowboarding as I can afford to do Smile

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope I can see you on track sometime in the future!

David

Thanks for the welcome guys Smile

Just wondering, I am interested to see what leagues etc you are running here (such as the ones which scroll across the top of the page) but I can find no link or reference to these in the forums...

Or is it the case that these can not be seen until after a person becomes approved?

You need 4 people to click on the + then you get approved.
After that you can see the leagues.
WEC and GT Open leagues (120min and 90min races) will start soon. At this moment registration is closed. But with the new members arriving could be a good idea to reopen it.
WTCC is running.
FIA GT 04 also running. But no idea if this will go ahead at all.
GT Sprint Series will start in the future.

Ok thanks for the info.

Just finished watching the Monaco GP, great race with a few incidents.... I'm becoming a fan of Nico this season, he's showing that he is a very good and mature driver and making Lewis look average (I am no great fan of Hamilton it has to be said, over rated I think)

Thanks guys, much appreciated!

Just getting my rig set up, I've got a 2.4hr Nurburgring endurance race tomorrow, need to get some (lots of) practice laps done.... It going to be tough concentrating on that track for so long....
