Man, those templates have a merged background... Evil or Very Mad I'm trying to update them with some details, but the main painting area is simply out of business!

ToCA RD2 represents 2003 V8 Season if I recall it correct. A lot of VX and AU cars! I dont know, maybe it will make more sense to do 10 missing cars from 2003 season before starting 32 cars from scratch of 2004, what do you think, guys?

templarnot4, thank you for the track!

If you planned on doing a whole bunch I’d try to remap it instead, pretty easy body shape to learn unwrapping in blender and you’ll save so much time painting.

I started the skin conversions. The 3d models are the same! I have 27 cars out of the 44 cars listed on wikipedia.

I imagine that TRD1 cars are the same too...

Give me some day and I will post the complete skinpack. (100-200 files to rename, find real driver and team names, genstring, etc...)

I must say its great to see a project like this. I've been gathering some DTM cars as well, unfortunately while i'm willing to make missing 2000-2004 skins the Mercedes CLK models are not that good.
Look forward to this project!! Very Happy

In the most basic terms extract the body1 material from 3dsimed and open in blender and start remapping lol.

I have downloaded the R3E CLK from gamemodels.ru. I don't know when but I will convert it. And I have to paint the 2004 CLK for my DTM 2005-2006 mod (again missing free time Sad ).

Please folks don't remap anything. There are so many skins that should be made again. It's too late...

The 2003 cars are working in game. I must edit drivers and team names and paint the driver names on the windows (probably is a feature added in TRD3).

I want to ask again if you have the files from TRD1. I was not sure about TRD2-TRD3 cars similarity but TRD1-TRD2 are clearly the same models. We can have the 2002 season too.

Ok, I will convert it too.

The readme was written before coming here. I will update when I will finish this new conversion.

The Holden VY will come after this (but will take a lot more time).

Speaking of trd2 is it possible to get the seat supercopa converted if you have the time and trd1 does have the vt commodore so if that is convertable then it is possible to get decent grids from 99-01 if the skins can be made

Sorry, I have other projects to do, I won't convert the leon.

I have some problem converting the TRD1 skins:
- The cars don't have numbers so it will be hard to understand who is who.
- I'm not able to extract 3d models. 3dSimed v3 crashes, 3dSimed v2 shows one big mesh where many parts are positioned in the same position (0,0,0).
- I have not found any Commodore VT after opening the first files.
- The Holden VX is the same but the Falcon AU is different. I can recognize the same parts but they are rotated, mirrored and/or in different textures.

I can try to paint the Falcon copying logos from these files but it will require much more time.

the big kev commodore is a vt so they might of just had it named a vt in the game itself but had it on the vx model since apart from the lights there isn'tmuch visually different between the two

I'll take a 2 days break. The TRD1 conversion is the longest and hardest skin conversion I made.
Consider this as a preview/first part:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Why there weren't official holdens in TRD1? Crazy choice from codemasters.

I don't know what I should do about the falcons. Converting the 3d model (pale) or painting the car copying and pasting logos (No)?

so for weird reasons the ps2 version of trd1 is based off the 2001 season and the pc version is 2002 which explains the lack of vt commodore

PS2 Version of TRD1 had the same thing with the DTM cars. It only featured the 2001 cars whereas the PC version also had the 2002 season.

The skins were too difficult for my skills and I opted for a conversion.

I apologize for the bad quality of my conversion:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This update will overwrite only the falcon AU wheels (now we have red wheels available). No other files will be overwritten but the car will need the other falcon AU to work (many files are shared).

My 3dSimed has extracted a mixture of lod a, b and c. I have not been able to split the models.
I've spent many hours to improve the car but overall result is still bad. If you can improve the car or (much much better) you can paint the liveries on the HPDC Falcon AU, you're welcome.

Tomorrow I will start the Holden VY conversion, then I will make little updates before packing a complete V8 Supercars 2005-2006 mod (+ 2002-2003 seasons).

Nice job! thumbs

What's up with VX templates as well as VY model? I think that if we have a chance to get adequate templates we need to take it. Remap models or anything it takes. I'm trying to modify existing templates, but I still need one for VX to start a HQ remake of 2003 carset with additional entries.

The holden VY has exactly the same templates used by the Holden VZ. (This is the reason why I never converted it and I wrongly thought they were the same car).

Now I don't have the skills to make a template. I'll learn after converting the holden VY. (In the meanwhile if someone is faster than me...)

Holden VY conversion cancelled. The cars are too similar. The difference is only the second mirror, overlapping the cars in 3dSimed there is no difference (except the mirror and rear light textures). I'm starting the v8 supercars update where the holden vy will be a copy of  the holden vz with little changes. I will update the MMM V8's lights and more.

EDIT:
Holden VY done.
Holden lights reworked.
Mirrors inverted on all cars fixed.
Merge MMMV8 and HPDC mods done.

This is my to do list:
1-rework Ford lights
2-rework Commodore VX materials
3-improve again the TRD1 Falcon
4-create template for Commodore VX (Am I able?)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I was checking your request but every car has rain tyres. If you request a pit, you will see the rain tread on the tyres. I don't have to fix this.

Ford lights reworked.

I don't understand what do you mean about the tyres. The rain tyres are working as normal rain tyres. The only strange thing that I've noted during my quick tests is the default tyre selection and the line Rim=(....) in tyr file (not present on other tyr files).

My tests:
-100% rain with standard F550
the default tyres are the rain tyres
-100% rain V8SC
the default tyres are the dry tyres (and AI stops after one lap)

Is this your "tyre bug"?

EDIT:
The real tyres were all hard tyres? I could make softer tyres if they are missing.
