Hello and welcome to seemingly lengthy post from a new member!!

Post  courty89 on 23/8/2017, 23:04

Hi everyone Smile

Obviously new here but been around for a while, seen some names on here i recognise from times before and hope to maybe be recognised in the process, anyway lets get down to business...

1.What's your real name, age?

My name is Aaron Court and I'm 27

2.From where you are?

I'm from Nottingham ,UK

3.Which Sim games do you play?

The main one for me has always been GTR2, been playing it now for around 8 years now, I fell in love with the flexibility of the game mods wise.

I grew up playing Gran Turismo 1-4, then skipped 5 as i bought an Xbox 360, put a lot of time into Forza 2, then started college and simultaniously became a father so my gaming time dropped massively, then I came across GTR2 as i could mess with that whilst at college on my laptop and have been on and off with it ever since, currently I'm on it lol, bought a PS4 back in 2012 in anticipation for GT7....still waiting, ended up getting a PS3 played about 30% of GT6, recently bought an Xbox One and got Forza 6 to practice on for Forza 7, PCars2 looks good, Just need to upgrade my old G25 as no longer compatible on consoles.

4.How did You know about EEC Team? (If its a friend or from a different site please tell write who it is too)

So for majority of my time spent on GTR2 I have been a member of F1C, once apon a time was a fairly busy place, that was where i got interested in making my own personal changes to various mods, either due to files being a mess, skins looking rough and so on, the easy stuff, had a go at some basic modding in the sense that I would edit .txt files to change wheels and such or change what .eng was used or what sounds where used, wheels for instance i would edit there position using 3dsimed so they sat right on the car, did a fair amount of work on a Honda civic BTCC car that I think was original from Petra? not to sure now but that has stayed private to me and the friend I was working on it with, for all i know he finished it lol

(The short answer is came across this site on F1C but I seem to of got lost n my waffling lol)

5.Do you ever race online?

Only in the casual sense on Forza 6 at the moment, my free time is lacking as I work for myself as a BMW Specialist, in the garage most hours unless I'm with family.

6.Do you have enough free time to run on sundays? (Only important if you want to drive online)

Unfortunately not, if I had the time I would but the above applies here, plus due to my constant tinkering with mods non of my files would match other peoples lol

7.Do you know something about modding, skinning?

Nothing special but I do know a few things, as above I like fixing things in my personal opinion, the main reason I found this Site is due to hearing about the EEC GT3 mod at F1C, I see there has been a large number of updates and talk of other skin packs not working, skins for the EEC GT3 2.3 mod not being compatible with EEC GT3 3.0 for instance, specifically the Blancpain 2012 skin pack on esport-racing.de, I'm currently working through them to convert to 3.0 Wink.....not sure on permissions for this site being a private community so hopefully an admin will inform me of that for future referance to me sharing it

8.Any problem for you if we give access only for some Mods?

Not really, you only get what you work for, anything free is a bonus in life generally, I've done pretty well over the years to amass a pretty large collection of mods, skins and unfinished models and such to keep me busy for eternity as it is lol

9.Are you here only to grab mods and then leave us?

I suppose I'm looking for a new bed to sleep in in my spare time Razz, F1C was the one place I would go back to after each and every 'away time' I would have from GTR2 but in recent times its just not been what I was used to so think its tme for a change, hopefully thats where this place comes in, I might not be on here every day or every week but I always have that one place to return to to kick start myself again, the commuinity here looks great and active, anywhere that takes an intereset in GT cars or Touring cars is great and I've seen a fair few names I recognise which adds to that comfort level.

10.Please, write a few words about you (hobbies, sports, job, etc):

No we're talking....

First off Job:
- I'm a self employed BMW Specialist based in Nottingham UK, my business is called RGA BMW Services, check it out on Facebook

Sports:
- If it has 4 wheels and an engine I'll watch it (Formula E I'm talking to you, you have already failed in my book lol), the main motorsports I follow are Formula 1, BTCC and Aussie V8 supercars, with out fail I will watch every race (I have a TV in the workshop so I can still work lol), I used to be big into GT's but that sort of fizzled out when FIA GT1 swapped there GT1 cars for GT3 back at the end of 2010 iirc, to me it lost its purpose at the time doing that, things do seem to of changed over the last 6-7 years though so might start followingi some GT again, just which? lol not interested in any other sports tbh mainly due to time which im generally short of.

Hobbies:
- funnily enough it covered above but lets sumerise, I enjoy playing car games, watching car racing and tinkering with cars(most people would call it my job but I enjoy it lol)

Think that just about covers it, think I may of waffled on a little to much but you get an idea of my personality lol, if you read the whole lot then well done, you finished it before the coma set in.. Smile

Hello and welcome.

I think calling the main GT class GT'3' is a bit of a turn off, why not call it GT1 now? They're certainly much more than the GT2s of the 2000s FIA GT class.

Hi guys and thanks

I would agree they are much more then the GT2 of old but I dunno, think it just feels odd to me, the GT1 class of the 2010/11 years were epic and I was addicted to watching it, I did watch GT3 as well at the time but was into it less so, for 2012 with GT1 numbers falling there was talk of adding GT3 cars into the mix and adding mods to boost there speed and such and carbon brakes but the whole parity setup would be maintained for a level playing field, instead what we got was all the GT1 cars gone and the only mods to the GT3 cars was less noise restriction so basically no different to the GT3 championship i was already following, just in that instance i was so disappointed i just lost interest in it, a few years later and after a couple of name changes it became the Blancpain Series we know today.

maybe I'm just stuck on old times lol

Welcome Aaron!
Being a US based fan it was always ALMS, LMS for me along with FIA GT. I too miss the GT1 days where privateers mixed it up. But in the end the SRO was the right call and, IMO, GT racing worldwide is better than its been in my lifetime.
The FIA/ACO has almost completely failed LMS in my opinion.
Despite some shortcomings in P2/DPi, IMSA got it perfect with GTLM/GTD.
I love the VSC cars too from down under and wish we had that and a US Spec BTCC too. I just have to settle for NASCAR on road courses and short Ovals. LOL

Enjoy the site and community!

Speaking of ALMS, can't say I followed it much as here was difficult but I did happen to come across the GT2 battle of Laguna Seca 2009, that was epic racing
