gtr alt+tab pauses game?

hey. If i'm watching the AI in a race in the monitor and I alt+tab, it pauses the whole game. When I come back, it resumes at the point I left at.
Is it possible to make the game NOT pause? So for example, if I alt+tab when it's lap 1, I can return later and the race will be complete?

Afaik that's not possible.
Then again 2-3 alt-tab and GTR crashes, it's never been a game that liked alt-tab.

running in a window prevents problems with ALT TAB, but still pauses on loosing focus.
