Hi there!

Post  Mesquite on 25/1/2015, 11:51

Hi folks,
I'm new here and I'd like to introduce myself:

My name Markus, I live in Mainz, Germany and I'm 46 years old (already, phew..)
I mainly play GTR2, plus a little rfactor, ETS2 and FSX. I found this site while searching for a Ginetta mod, as far as I remember. I absolutely love the EEC GT3 md, btw.

I never raced online before, I feel I'm too lousy for online racing. Also, I've seen a couple of videos of people racing online on youtube and frankly, seeing people overtaking ten cars on the straight after the start, then braking way too late, wrecking three to five cars in the first corner and so on always made me think of online racing as not so desirable - after all I'm not a 12 year old kid anymore...

Do you have enough free time to run on sundays? Well definately not every sunday. I'm driving trains for a living, so sometimes I'm off on sundays, sometimes I'm not. Would it Be possible to race only some races and skip others?

I don't know nothing about modding, but skinning, well, I did some aircraft skins for FS9 back then, I know how to work with layers, curves and all that stuff, so yeah, I could make some skins.

Guess thats pretty much it, well, I'm married with two kids, that takes some time away, too. But I'd love to try racing online with people who like sim racing without abusing the sim as a first person shooter and you guys seems to be serious about sim racing.

Cheers

Markus

Edit: P.S.: Which mods do I need for online racing? Should I start downloading in advance?

Welcome Markus.  I just joined the "family" at EEC this month too.  You are right, it seems like a serious bunch here, but very helpful and patient.  There is a lot of knowledge and skill here too!!  That's refreshing from other sites I've visited.  I've never raced online and the team here has been so gracious and understanding (lots of "dumb" questions from me) and have got me up and ready to go.  Take a look around there is a lot here!

Thank you all! The more I look around, the better it gets.

@ Paul: Yes, I spent several hours reading the forums here. My dumb question for you (or whoever wants to answer): where do I ask to get help. I'd like to run some races in the GT Sprint Series, but I don't know how to get started or who to ask.

Thanks

You can post in the league thread in the bottom of the forum. Will be better there. You can post but will only be able to download the mod once an admin add you to drivers group.
